Alec Finlay Scottish artist Alec Finlay’s practice extensively involves collaborative publishing projects. For over ten years he has published artist and poet collaborations, folios, and books through his Morning Star press. His approach is varied, including issuing open invitations and generatingcollaborative working contexts. For Inset, Finlay led local Houston poets in a rengaa poetry writing circle based upon Japanese haikucomprised of participation, performance, reading, and writing. The composed linked-verse poem, was displayed at the museum, as well as a series of circle poems and material from his ongoing project Wind Blown Cloud. Finlay also initiated a new call for submissions, inviting submissions for Circle Poems, a forthcoming anthology. |
